Secret Mojo Dumbs It Down for You

The Fencer Belt: done

Like Fencer’s writing, this section was executed with poise and grace (though not with the precision—yet). I think I’m getting the hang of it now.

The left-handed needle executes a tricksy riposte and scores a point. Also: White to play and live.

Next up: Firefly’s corn rows.

  1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you negotiated this tricky early section without serious mishap. I was afraid for a moment you’d impaled yourself slightly with a wayward knitting needle.

Are you knitting and playing go or pente at the same time? That sounds so cerebral and well, civilized.

  4. Hey, you play go… I play poorly. I can see grand spatial strategies but when it comes down to the nitty gritty of the fighting, I usually go wrong. Probably because I’m not motivated to study the game any more than I have already.

  5. Fencer, sorry about the go board; I didn’t have a spare aikido gi laying around, so I picked the most japanese thing I could find short of electronics. It was a stab in the dark, and I assumed that if you didn’t play, I could at least pass it off as an “elegant” game, technique and wisdom combined, which surely denotes a way I think about your blog.

Bein, thanks for coming by. Dig deep into Quirk; every post is a gem. No joke.
